Dizziness is a common complaint with many potential causes, including heart problems, thyroid issues, brain disorders, and sinus infections, which can also affect balance. One specific form of dizziness, vertigo, is often linked to inner ear problems and causes a spinning sensation, where either the environment or the patient seems to move. Treatment for vertigo is typically symptomatic and may include vestibular rehabilitation therapy to speed up recovery. In some cases, medications or surgery may be needed to address persistent symptoms. While most vertigo resolves on its own, targeted treatments can help manage symptoms and improve recovery, especially in cases like benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) or Menière’s disease, which involve temporary dizziness or more prolonged episodes.
